Order Details/Alterations

It is important to check the details of your order as soon as you receive the order form and notify me of any errors immediately.  The responsibility to check order details lays with you the customer and Le Bon Cakes cannot be held responsible for errors not brought to my attention.

Once an order has been confirmed, any alterations to the order must be confirmed in writing (via email, text, Facebook messenger etc).  While I will make every effort to accommodate requested alterations, it may not always be possible due to time constraints.  Depending on the amount of work involved, any alterations to the original order may be subject to an additional charge.

Cancellation

Wedding Cakes

If you decide to cancel your order for any reason please bear in mind that Le Bon Cakes reserves the right to retain the booking fee and all or part of the deposit and final payment, depending on when the cancellation occurs. Monies from the deposit or final payment will be retained to cover special items purchased for your order and for any work already completed.

Celebration Cakes

If you decide to cancel your order for any reason please bear in mind that Le Bon Cakes reserves the right to retain all or part of the deposit and final payment depending on when the cancellation occurs.  Monies will be retained to cover special items purchased for your order and for any work already completed.

Le Bon Cakes retains the right to cancel an order under circumstances beyond our control (ill health, fire etc), in this instance a full refund will be given.

Collection

A time slot for collection will be arranged with you during the week your cake is due.  While there is some room for flexibility around the agreed collection time, please confirm any changes to the time with Le Bon Cakes.  There may be no-one at the premises to release the cake if you do not keep to the agreed time.

Care must be taken when collecting your cake.  A flat surface is required to transport the cake (boot or footwell), particularly for tiered cakes. Car seats or a lap are not suitable surfaces and damage may occur if a cake is transported this way. Careful driving is advised, cakes are delicate structures and sudden braking etc could cause damage to the cake.

If you are collecting and transporting the cake(s) yourself, please be aware that the responsibility for the cake passes to you, the customer, as soon as the cake leaves the premises.  Le Bon Cakes will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left the premises.

Delivery

All wedding cakes will be delivered to venue.

Due to time constraints, delivery is normally unavailable for celebration cakes, although this can be arranged under certain circumstances and at the discretion of Le Bon Cakes.

Delivery charges are in addition to the cost of the cake and are based on mileage and hourly rate for the time needed to deliver and set up.

During transit to the venue, the cake remains the responsibility of Le Bon Cakes.  If any damage occurs during transit Le Bon Cakes will attempt to repair the damage or will offer a reduction in price or refund. The maximum refund offered is the value of the cake and delivery charge.  Further compensation is not available.

On arrival at a venue, Le Bon Cakes requires a nominated person to check they are happy with the cake and to sign to confirm the cake has been left in perfect condition.

Le Bon Cakes will not be held responsible for any damage to the cake once it has been delivered and set up at the venue.

When choosing delivery please be aware that while Le Bon Cakes will do everything possible to get your cake to the venue in good time, we cannot be held responsible for factors beyond our control (traffic, weather etc).

Please ensure that the venue has arranged for the cake table to be set up prior to delivery.  Le Bon Cakes reserves the right to charge for any extra time at the venue waiting for a table to be set up.

Customer Satisfaction

Complaints are rare but Le Bon Cakes take them very seriously.  If the complaint is about the design or finish of the cake this must be brought to my attention before accepting the cake and I will do everything I can to rectify the problem if time allows.  If the complaint is about the quality of the cake (taste, texture etc) at least 50% of the cake(s) must be returned to me, within 24 hours, for investigation,  before any refund can be considered. Any other complaints should be put in writing and include evidence/photo.

In the event of a complaint, refunds are at the discretion of Le Bon Cakes and are not automatic.  The maximum refund offered is the value of the cake.  Further compensation is not available.
